Afternoon
You sit on the verandah reading a book while your kids explore the pepper vines. No screen battles. No Swiggy. You cook lunch with vegetables from the kitchen garden. Your daughter asks where food comes from. For the first time, you show her.
Evening
You walk the boundary as the sun goes down behind the Western Ghats. The mango trees you planted two visits ago are tall enough to give shade now. A hornbill lands twenty feet away. You do not reach for your phone.
Sunday
You leave at noon, rested in a way that no five-star resort has ever managed. The drive back is long but you are not counting down days until your next holiday. You are planning your next visit — maybe during harvest season.
